It was difficult to fathom, but my beloved agility partner, Chance, was going to turn 7 years old shortly after the first of the year. Although I hope we have many more years together running agility, it was time to look ahead and think about finding a new agility prospect. Consequently I contacted Chance's breeder, Marshland Shetlies and asked to be placed on their waiting list for a puppy. After only a few months they had what they felt was a potential agility prospect and after a third trip to Southern California in seven years, enter "Jesse", an 8 week old tri-colored Shetland Sheepdog.

Introductions went pretty much as expected. Will (my Whippet) and Ashley (my pit mix) were enthusiastic, Toby (my greyhound) interested. Brenden and Chance (my Shelties) were not thrilled. Chance took exception more than Brenden, showing his hackles to this little ball of fluff that dared to show up in his front yard. Brenden simply ignored him. Several days later the Shelties have accepted his presence, Will wants desperately to play with him, Ashley is official baby sitter and Toby is forever tolerant. So the storey begins.
