The "POLCA" Chemotherapy Protocol
As used to treat Katie her first and second times through chemotherapy.
Katie's oncologist determined that she had become allergic to one of the medications used in the previous protocol, so when she had to undergo chemotherapy a third time the protocol was changed as follows:
After she was intially diagnosed with lymphoma, Katie went through a number of different protocols. While I've outlined only the first 3 above, the important thing to remember is that if one medication doesn't work, don't be afraid to try another. You can always say enough and stop the treatment. But if you don't try, the outcome is without doubt.
